Following the huge success of our work on the The Mill, in Alveley, we are delighted to be working closely with the the same family to lead a new project transforming an old boarding school into a stunning wedding venue in Herefordshire.
Work at the former St Richard’s School, in Bredenbury, started in August 2017, with the project to bring it back to life as a premier wedding venue with 50-bedroom guest accommodation due for completion in April 2019.
A new oak-framed banqueting barn will start being erected as part of the multi-million pound project in January 2018.
Built in 1810, the house and grounds enjoyed an extensive and colourful residential history before being purchased for use as a a school after World War One by Cheltenham Ladies College, when a classroom block and swimming pool were added. The site was acquired by St Richards in 1968 and remained a school until its closure in June 2016.
The entire wedding venue project is being managed by Mark Connolly Building Contractors Ltd, working closely with acclaimed Leek-based CTD Architects (https://www.ctdarchitects.co.uk)
We’ll keep you posted as this exciting project develops…
