The Mill Barns, Alveley:

The spectacular wedding venue

We were delighted to play an integral role in helping The Mill Barns, at Alveley, rise from the ashes into one of the country’s premier wedding venues.

The site was previously home to a hotel, which was ravaged by fire in 2015. More than 80 firefighters tackled the blaze, which completely destroyed all but one of the structures.

Following its destruction in the fire, the former Mill Hotel site was successfully purchased at auction  by Ben and Sarah Reeves of Ensarb Limited, the award-winning husband and wife team behind The Ashes Barns Wedding Venue and Pendrell Hall Country House Wedding Venue.

It was their vision to create something spectacular. In their words, they wanted to see the site transformed into ‘a barn wedding venue like no other, offering couples a unique waterfront setting, the rustic charm of traditional oak-framed barns and plenty of luxury accommodation onsite’.

We were selected as the main building contractors for the £3 million project, with our team of experts and subcontractors working alongside a timber frame specialist and groundwork specialist.

The project was to transform the site with magnificent wedding barns and luxury 26-bedroom guest accommodation.

This impressive construction consisted of intricate oak frame and extensive water features. Other features included architectural balustrade systems, feature large cladding and numerous flooring details ranging from traditional oak flooring to painted industrial concrete.

We worked in close relationship with Ben and Sarah and their project manager to ensure budgets and the tight deadline of 12 months was met in order to bring their inspirational vision to life. The result is simply spectacular.
